Duke's Pawrents

So last month, my pawrents invited a whole lot of hoomans watch me run down an aisle to deliver something to my dad which he attached to a special collar I've never worn before. I'm not sure what the big deal was but I guess I did really well because my hoomans promised to take me on a long adventure walk. I think they must have been stressed and relieved after my performance because they said they wanted to go on a minimoon and 'fall off the grid' for a bit... whatever that means?

Anyhoo, on the day of our big adventure, I was bursting with excitement that I had the most epic zoomies ever! It felt like forever to reach our destination, like two whole 14-hour nap sessions. When I saw where we were staying for the duration of the adventure walk, I was a bit sus. I think my pawrents set me up.

Day 1: Cronchy Treatos, Meaty Delights, & Stinko Snackies

My hoomans, they’re the best.. After settling into our temporary pup tent, my pawrents put out a nice spread of never-before tasted treatos. I had to give them my best 'I'm a starving pupper, please feed me yummy nom noms' eyes.. it works every time!

I tried a few different meaty delights which I would gib 8 out of 10. Also, some really cronchy treatos, 10 out of 10 because I love anything cronchy. Lastly, I got my paws on a couple stinko snackies, those I'd gib 4/10.

To end the night, they made a campfire and got out all these yummy-smelling things – including hotdogs and I think they called them s’mores. I watched as they took these round, white fluffers (marshmallows, I heard them say) and put them on sticks. They held them over the fire until they turned all golden and gooey. Then the best part! They smooshed them between a couple cronchy crackers and added some melty, chocolatey goodness. I sat close by, hoping they might drop a piece or give me a little taste. Sadly, they kept saying, "sorry Duke, chocolate bad. You DIE!".. I guess chocolate isn’t good for dogs, but they did let me have a bit of the plain cronchy cracker. Yum!

Day 2: Duke Inspections, First Train Ride, & Dirt Path Walkies

One of my hoomans woke up really early, earlier than usual. So early that it was still dark outside! I think he wanted to watch the sunrise. I followed him to the outside patio because I had to protect him from any danger that may befall him. This is me Duke-inspecting the area to ensure it was safe.

Later that day, this is me on my first train ride. It was cool. Peed on some poles, said hi to some strangers, and went on some mini walkies.

Day 3: Eggies, Off-Lease Shenanigans, & Death by Wobbly Hammock Nap Trap

On the last day, we explored the campgrounds a bit and found a nice place that had some hardbroiled eggies for the free and other 'for-hoomans-only' nom noms. Before heading home for some major nappy-doos, I had some off-lease zoomies, dug my face in some sand, and almost died from getting stuck in a swinging nap trap my hoomies loved laying on... not a fan.

My favorite part of this adventure walk was the heated beds. Overall, I gib this extended adventure walk an 8 out of 10, definitely would recommend for puppers who love camping outdoors in a tent with the added luxury of wi-fi, running water, & clean bathrooms and showers for their hoomans. They seemed happy to add another one of these stickies on their treato vault.

Til next time Mendocino Grove!
